TeachFish.org provides a model, for creating small economic communities in deprived areas. The model is currently being proven in Nueva Espanola (Mogote) Honduras. In this community 5 small businesses have been incubated by matching entrepreneurs, resources, and training from the United States. This has created a small economic system of cash and barter. The humility of a handout has been replaced with the pride of having a job. Join the corps today! Vision:
Leveraging entrepreneurs and technology to break the
cycle of poverty and despair.
Mission:
•Cypress
Institute d.b.a. TeachFish.org is a
non-profit 501C3 founded in 1999 whose
purpose is to break the cycle of poverty and
despair through entrepreneurship and
technology.
•TeachFish.org,
gives the poor the tools they need
to lift
themselves
out of poverty, providing
opportunity through matching
successful entrepreneurs and their
companies with mentoring and other
resources that help
"micro-entrepreneurs" reap the
rewards of their own labor.
•
How it works: We use scrap resources and innovative technology to fight global poverty and bring opportunities to the world's poorest people. With business training, resource matching and web based mentoring, we help the poor start businesses and escape poverty. So far we have created 5 businesses in one of the poorest communities in the world. |
